My story - why I am walking?
When my son was a young child, there was a time when we were plunged into uncertainty as ambulance sirens wailed, rushing us to hospital where strangers became our lifeline. His illness left us grappling with fear and helplessness. As a mother, my heart had carried the weight of sleepless nights spent in hospital rooms, cradling my son as machines beeped and medical jargon filled the air.
There were moments when the exhaustion was overwhelming, yet leaving his side was never an option. Every breath he took, every tiny struggle, was a battle we faced together, and the sleepless nights became a new normal. As I watched him fight, I discovered a resilience within myself I never knew existed. Those nights, filled with worry, fear, and an unwavering determination to protect my child, are imprinted in my soul forever. My son is a happy, healthy adult today.Â
So, I do understand how these families would feel, when a child is sick and requiring constant treatment and care round the clock.
When I had been employed, my salary allowed me to offer financial support to charities, but now unemployed thus with lesser means to contribute financially, this walk provided me with a solution to support — by walking.
Up all Night is a charity walk organized by Ronald McDonald House who is dedicated to supporting families with sick kids.  These families need just a little light in their darkest hours as they would have been fighting their own battles in quiet hospital rooms.  This walk is more than just a physical challenge for me; it’s a way to help raise vital funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities, Western Australia.Â
Though I’ve never walked this distance before, the motivation propelling me forward is the hope that my small steps of effort will provide support to those who need it most.
Your sponsorship wouldn’t just support my walk; it would be a beacon of hope for every family who needs a home away from home that provide comfort, support and resources to families who travel far from their own home for the medical care their child needs.  Every sick child deserves a future filled with possibilities. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can illuminate the darkness for families up all night, clinging to hope.
Join me in this journey of love, resilience, and compassion. With your help, we can walk through the night to bring a brighter day for those who need it most.

I'm staying Up All Night for WA families with sick kids
This March, I’m taking part in Up All Night, walking 42 km across Perth to help provide a home away from home and services that support the well-being of WA families with sick kids.
For families with sick kids needing to travel far from home to access specialist medical care, sleepless nights are sadly just part of the deal.
By walking a night in their shoes, I can help these families at a time when they need it most.
The funds I raise can help provide accommodation, support and stability for families with sick kids who just want to spend loving time together during the hardest time of their lives.
Could you give a generous donation to help Ronald McDonald House Charities WA continue to provide support to families with sick kids, 24/7 365 days a year?
Thank you for making a difference in the lives of WA families with sick kids through your kindness!
