Jaimee Mortimer

One of many...

I am but one of many Fortescue team members taking the step towards helping... but if I, too, could have your ear (or eyes) for a moment...

On the 22nd of March, my shift change night (so will have been awake from 3:30am), I will be staying up all night walking 42km for sick kids and their families.

Ronald McDonald House opened its first one in NSW's in 1981. Perth didn't get their first one till 1990, in Subiaco. This means it was a few years too late to be of use to my family when my brother was RFDS'd down at birth.

We've all seen ads for it, we've all heard of it in one capacity or another, but do we actually know what they do?

They provide families with quality accommodation, professional family support officers, learning programs for toddlers to teens, a business center for parents to work remotely, meals, and a range of services that positively impact their wellbeing! It is a very special home away from home.

RMHC WA is an essential service for thousands of families with sick kids. Some need them for a night, some for over a year. Their mission is to keep families together and close to medical care. Kids are stronger and brighter together with their family throughout their medical journey.

I know there is a cost-of-living crisis, and I would never ask anyone to give more than they can afford. So please, throw a dollar my way... make a difference.

Kind regards and Much love,

Jaimee

I'm staying Up All Night for WA families with sick kids

This March, I’m taking part in Up All Night, walking 42 km across Perth to help provide a home away from home and services that support the well-being of WA families with sick kids.

For families with sick kids needing to travel far from home to access specialist medical care, sleepless nights are sadly just part of the deal.
By walking a night in their shoes, I can help these families at a time when they need it most.

The funds I raise can help provide accommodation, support and stability for families with sick kids who just want to spend loving time together during the hardest time of their lives.

Could you give a generous donation to help Ronald McDonald House Charities WA continue to provide support to families with sick kids, 24/7 365 days a year?

Thank you for making a difference in the lives of WA families with sick kids through your kindness!
